WEST CAPE- WHERE THE ELEMENTS RULE!

West Cape lies on the mountain plateau of Kjerringa, towering 497 metres above the resplendent, feared Stadhavet sea. Here we encounter the elements in all possible combinations, from calm seas in brilliant sunshine, to thick sea mists and fierce squalls, with the occasional full-blown hurricane.

At first sight, the plateau may seem quiet and deserted. But all of a sudden a hare leaps up in front of you, a stoat inspects you curiously, wondering who you might be, an eagle soars into the skies, and yes, you may even glimpse a passing fox.

If you appreciate the beauty of such a landscape, West Cape is the place for you. Its incredible 360-degree panorama allows you in a single instant to enjoy a vista of the open sea, snow-clad mountain tops, islands and fjords.

West Cape is the most westerly plateau in Norway and all North Europe, situated on a latitude of 62° 11' 18" north and a longitude of 5° 7' 33" east, on the Stadland peninsula in the municipality of Selje in the county of Sogn og Fjordane.

On West Cape you will also find Vestkapphuset with its café and souvenir shop.
