VESTKAPPHUSET
Vestkapphuset
is a family business owned and run by the Kvernevik family. We bought the
house in 2002 and true to tradition stay open for tourists in the summer
season and at other times of the year for private arrangements. During
these years we have renovated and redecorated the house and the area
outside to make it comfortable and attractive for our almost 30 000
visitors each year.
Vestkapphuset is divided into two main areas, with a café in the one
section and the souvenir shop in the other. In the café you can enjoy a
cup of hot coffee or a bite to eat, while you sit at the window and enjoy
the wonderful panoramic view. If it's real west Norway weather with
stormy winds and rain, and there isn't much to be seen, but you can still
experience the view by watching " West Cape, the film" which is
shown at fixed times on the big screen in the cafe. From the café area
there are stairs leading up to the outlook tower, where you can enjoy the
view from a different angle.
In the gift shop you can buy attractive local souvenirs, postcards, books
about the area, T-shirts, sweaters and smaller items such as pins and
stickers.
